François Guérard works in the Nuclear Oncology team at the CRCNA1. Since his PhD thesis, he has been focusing on the chemistry of astatine, and pursued this work during his postdoc at the National Cancer Institute (National Institutes of Health, US), by exploring the chemistry of this element and of other useful radioactive isotopes, in order to facilitate their binding to biomolecules for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in nuclear medicine. At present, his main research still concentrates on the chemistry of radioactive isotopes, and also that of biomolecules (antibodies, artificial proteins) to which these radioisotopes can be bound.
