Lucie Bard holds a PhD in Neurosciences. She uses optical microscopy and electrophysiology to study how information is transmitted through neural networks. During her PhD, supervised by Laurent Groc at the University of Bordeaux, she focused on the molecular mechanisms that control the anchoring of NMDA-type glutamate receptors in the synapses. Since 2011 she has been conducting post-doctoral research at Dmitri Rusavov’s laboratory at University College London (UK), investigating the dialogue between neurons and astrocytes and its role in synaptic physiology.
