Solar Energy in the World: Data Sheet

01.25.2014
An interactive data visualization to understand the share of solar energy in the global energy mix.

Two technological pathways currently harness the power of the Sun, humanity's unlimited source of energy: thermal and photovoltaic. Thermal power converts solar radiation into thermal energy to, among other things, to produce electricity, but also heat or cold. The photovoltaic sector, on the other hand, directly converts sunlight into electricity.
