Alain Barrat obtained a PhD in theoretical physics in 1996. He joined the CNRS in 1998 following a post-doctorate at ICTP, Trieste (Italy), and he has been a senior researcher at the CNRS Centre de Physique Théorique in Marseille since 2009. His research focuses on complex networks and the many interdisciplinary applications of this field.
