Former Director of the CNRS Institute of Ecology and Environment (INEE), Françoise Gaill is currently Coordinator of the scientific board of the Ocean & Climate Platform [3]. She is also president of the strategic and scientific council of the French oceanographic fleet [4].

A specialist in marine organisms, this scientist is particularly interested in deep environments and adaptation to extreme environments. She highlighted in particular how certain molecular mechanisms allowed various organisms to survive in such extreme environments.
